Gandhinagar, 3 July, 2014

Gujarat Assembly today passed ‘Gujarat Ganot Vahivat ane Khetini Jamin(Sudhara) Vidheyak’. The bill was moved by state government.

Sharing details of the amendment bill, Minister Shri Nitin Patel who holds charge of Revenue department in assembly said: As per section 70 when Krushipanch Mamlatdar passes order to declare someone a permanent Ganotiyo and when on the basis of that order when it comes to knowledge that the land has been sold more than once and therefore Mamlatdar’s order to declare a person as permanent Ganotiyo is not as per the law, then in such case the present buyer of land faces problem without any reason.

To avoid such problem the state government will now collect token fine of Re. 1 and when premium is paid the land will be transferred to Juni Sharat. The amount of premium will change as per the government’s decision.

Patel said this will end years old pending claims, and government will earn revenue through premium.

Patel said the government has already made changes in law to avoid permanent Ganotiya related orders by Krushipanch Mamlatdar in past. As per the year 2011 amendment, when application for permanent Ganotiya is received by Krushipanch Mamlatdar, he has to take permission of state government’s Revenue department before giving permission, to lower down litigation and civil petitions.

The amendment in law will make a way for availability of land for residential and other purposes in urban area.

The bill passed without oppose. Rushikeshbhai Patel, Ramanbhai Patkar, Rajnikant Patel, Jashabhai Barad and Purneshbhai Modi participated in discussion on this bill.
