Ahmedabad, 23 July, 2014
Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) has now fixed the hotels on highways where its buses will take halt. The hotels are fixed through tendering process. For each halt of each bus, the hotel operator will pay Rs. 70 to GSRTC as per the arrangement.
In the past there were deals between the bus driver and particular hotel. But now GSRTC has stepped in and started a new source of revenue through newly introduced halt ticket.
Quality of food, proper rates, facility of clean toilet etc provisions are covered under the terms and conditions in tender.
The buses are permitted to halt at lunch, dinner, morning and evening tea time.
While on Rajkot route, the GSRTC has selected Avadh, Nandanvan and Rajdhani hotels for halt, on Surat route it has selected Swati-In, Maruti and Galaxy hotel. About 448 buses from all 16 divisions shall stop on these six hotels on Rajkot and Surat routes.
