Times Now political editor Navika Kumar in her report today exposed shocking details of former Gujarat Governor Kamla Beniwal’s spending of government money.
According to this report, as a Governor, Dr. Kamla Beniwal during three years spent 500 days out of Gujarat, traveling mostly to her hometown Jaipur. In 3 years, she took 53 trips by air to her hometown Jaipur and 10 trips by air to Delhi, most possibly to meet her political akas there.
Generally per hour air journey costs Rs. 3 lakh in private plane. Thus Kamla Beniwal spent Rs. 10 crore government money in flying to her hometown and Delhi in 3 years, Navika Kumar explained in her TV report.
As per the details shared by Navika Kumar to viewers, Kamla Beniwal was outside the Raj Bhawan and Gujarat for 132 days in year 2010, 105 days in 2011, 89 days in 2012 and 108 days in 2013. Her official visits in each year ranging from 19 to 30 involved 277 hours of flying and 63 trips outside Gujarat, 53 of them to Jaipur and 10 to Delhi.
It should be noted here that as Gujarat Governor, Beniwal used Gujarat government’s plane for these journey to home town and Delhi. There are daily scheduled flights and trains in enough frequency that connect Jaipur and Ahmedabad, but she didn’t choose that option.
