By-elections of Vadodara Lok Sabha seat, 9 assembly seats in Gujarat on 13 September

The Election Commission of India has today declared the dates of by-elections for vacant Lok Sabha seats including Vadodara seat in Gujarat vacated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as he selected to retain Varanasi seat.
By-elections of eight assembly seats in Gujarat will also be held on same dates. The seats are: Deesa, Maninagar, Tankara, Khambhalia, Mangrol, Talaja, Anand, Matar and Limkheda(ST).
Issue of notification: 20th August
Last date of making nominations: 27th August
Scrutiny of nominations: 28th August
Last date of withdrawal of candidatures: 30th August
Date of poll: 13th September Saturday
Counting of votes: 16th September
Date before which election shall be completed: 19th September
The electoral rolls of these assembly constituencies have been revised with reference to 1 January 2014 as the qualifying date and have been finally published on 31 January 2014.
The elections will be held using electronic voting machines.
The model code of conduct is now in force with immediate effect in districts in which the whole or any part of the assembly constituency going for by-election is included. The model code of conduct shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and the governments concerned.
