Gujarat to declare IT, Electronics policy: Saurabh Patel(video)

Following are glimpses of Gujarat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel’s speech at Curtain raiser event for Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 held in New Delhi:

-Last decade was the best that Gujarat had, and credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had a vision on how to covert Gujarat into growth engine.

-We have lot of strenths. It is because of very strong views that the state should be policy driven. And all our decisions, policies are framed in a manner that they are very transparant.

-We are power surplus state. Against our demand of 13,000 MW we have 22,000 MW.

-We talk of generation, but this is one state that also talks about transmission. Every year we spend Rs. 2000-3000 crore for building transmission.

-Quick decision making was also our strength, and I assure you that Anandiben is also known for very quick decision. She has clarity that helps investors and everyone in the government.

-We have allocated over 1,000 crore Rs. for skill development and we too take companies as partner , so we are aware about their requirement.

-Shri Amitabh Kant mentioned in his speech that we have 28% GDP but we have plans to scale up to 32% in three years, and that is the reason why very important policy decisions are going to be taken by the CM in next one and one and half month.

-We are working on our new policies. We are coming with electronic policy because we all know that lot of imports are taking place in hardware sector. IT policy is also coming in. All these things will be done in a very short spell of time. Once we take a call that we want to focus on particular sector, we go all out. Automobile is an example. Five years back we were nowhere on automobile manufacturing map, today we are a hub.

-Partner countries will have lovely opportunity to enter into joint venture with Indian partners, whether the trade happens in India or in their country, it will be a win-win situation. States in our country can showcase their best policies in this event.
