Parshottam Rupala cautions BJP workers (Video)

Ahmedabad, 3 September 2014

Speaking at Maninagar after opening election office of Maninagar by-election candidate of BJP Suresh Patel, BJP’s national vice president Parshottam Rupala asked party workers not to trap in laziness, carelessness and overconfidence.

Rupala said: We should take these elections seriously. Elections are elections. If we are trapped in laziness, carelessness, over confidence any of these three, we can’t afford. BJP is passing through such circumstances. The nation voted overwhelmingly for Narendra Modi not due to his dress code or his beard, but because of his work in Gujarat as Chief Minister during 12 years. Good news from Gujarat reached villages of the country. Gujarat has no power cut. Country felt they should also have same condition of living.

Rupala said Maninagar has been lion’s abode, and party workers should work hard to ensure that foxes don’t step in. Rupala said when party worker instead of party leader is contesting election, party workers should employ hard efforts to ensure his victory.

Rupala said victory is not an issue of prestige for BJP in Maninagar, but how much votes you ensure for BJP is a matter of prestige. This election office should be a medium to plan last-mile reachout in each booth area.

He reminded party workers that Ganpati utsav is going on and rainy season is also here. Added to this, there’s a short time on hand. “If you fail to plan properly, it will adversely affect voting percentage.”

He said, “while opponents get their fix votes dedicatedly without any major effort, we(BJP) need to connect to our voters. They have no hope to win the poll, but they want to cause damage to our prestige.”

Rupala further said, “as this is the area represented by Narendrabhai, now it is responsibility of party workers to ensure good lead for candidate Suresh Patel.”
