Kutch Rann Utsav 2014 is likely to start on 1st December this year. It will continue for four months period this time.
Like every year, the Rann utsav will take place close to White Rann of Kutch in Dhordo village.
Collector Mahendra Patel on Saturday held a meeting in this connection which was attended by Superintendent Engineer of Tourism department, district police administration, water supply, PWD and BSF officers.
Collector asked district team to see that complains received last year during the festival must not repeat this year.
He also suggested to set up a six bed hospital with round the clock presence of health team during the festival.
As per the primary details available at this time, the state government will be in charge of Rann utsav during 1 December – 31 January period, while private firm Lalji and sons will continue the fair during the period of 1 February to 31 March.
Dhordo sarpanch, rural development director, additional collector, DDO etc were present in the meeting.
