Though the government has not declared his programme officially so far, some details are coming out through officials in the government and their activities.

As per the civic authority officials, Xi Ping will arrive in Ahmedabad city in the afternoon on 17 September and move to Vastrapur lake based Grand Hyatt hotel. The hotel is located next to Alpha mall, at just across the road distance from Vastrapur lake – a small water body close to IIM road in western part of Ahmedabad city developed during Narendra Modi’s rule in Gujarat.

After MoU signing ceremony in the hotel itself, the Chinese President will leave for Sabarmati Gandhi ashram and later visit Riverfront park near Subhash bridge where he will speak to Indian Prime Minister over a walk. He will also take dinner at around 7.00 pm with Narendra Modi in the backdrop of Gandhi ashram(which is located across the river) at riverfront park before leaving the city via Sardar Patel airport.

Three Gujarat Ministers are given charge of three locations. While Saurabh Patel has been assigned task to look after Chinese President’s visit to Hyatt hotel, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama will take care of Chinese president’s visit to Gandhi Ashram while Nitin Patel will have responsibility to take care of Chinese President’s visit to Riverfront park.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has started executing cleaning, infrastructural and decoration tasks on the route of Chinese President’s visit. Re-carpeting of roads that have suffered damage following heavy rain, making the routes free from stray cattle, dogs, hawkers and vendors are some of the tasks, AMC will perform.

On the other hand, Vastrapur police has instructed the residents of societies surrounding the Vastrapur lake not to rent out their premisses to new tenants till Chinese President’s visit is over.
