Imam Mehdi Hasan arrested

Thasra police today arrested Imam Mehdi Hasan under section 295(C) from Rustampura village in central Gujarat. Imam was arrested at 5.15 pm. He will be produced in court tomorrow.
Imam has been arrested after complaint against him under Section 295(c) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), relating to hurting religious sentiments.
Hasan had described holy Hindu festival Navratri as festival of demons . He had described those who celebrate Navratri festival as drunkards, rapists and demons. He had demanded ban on Navratri festival.
There are several complaints lodged against Imam. He was underground after his anti-Hindu statement attracted cases against him.
