Parents protest 86% school fee hike, school calls bouncers(Photos)

Ahmedabad, 17 October 2014

A group of parents protested against Ahmedabad’s Udgam school at Thaltej Tekra today in big number. They were protesting sudden 86% hike in school fees. While existing fee is around Rs. 57,000, the new hike lifts it up to Rs. 1,12,000 according to parents. The school management deployed bouncers to counter the protest of parents outside the school.

Author’s note: Such protest also took place against Shreyas school in recent past. Ultimately parents have to give up as school management just doesn’t pull back. As they are private schools and management is in good terms with people in position, government doesn’t interfere( actually government has power and it should intervene). Parents have hardly any option at such time because there are not too many good schools in given area. After initial protest, parents start complying.
