Amit Shah’s press conference after Maharashtra, Haryana victory (video)

BJP president Amit Shah today addressed a press conference in Delhi and gave replies to questions asked by reporters on post-poll scenario in Maharashtra and Haryana.

Shah speaks:

-We will form government in both states.
-Everything will be clear by evening.
-NCP has stated not about alliance, it has stated extending outside support as we are the leading party.
-We haven’t discussed government formation so far.
-Party’s parliamentary board meeting will be held in the evening to take further decisions.
-We didn’t break coalition with Shiv Sena.
-Yes Advaniji has recommended BJP-Shiv Sena alliance government.
-Ally was seeking 45 seats from BJP under coalition to contest assembly elections. Did you see result? We have won more seats than we were offered to contest. How can we form alliance in such situation by sacrificing our party workers!
-Alliance with Shiv Sena broke for three seats! Today’s result indicates that we were right.
-People of this nation not just made Modi PM relying on him, but people also accept him as undisputed leader.
-Debate that what would happen after Lok Sabha polls is over after today’s results.
-People have approved the four months work of central government, its schemes, its initiative, its schemes.
-We will form government in Maharashtra means our Chief Minister will be there. Government begins with Chief Minister.
-Before the election, a situation arise that BJP had to decide to go alone.
-In Haryaa we never contested over 26 seats and never won over 16 seats. We contested all 90 seats this time – 74 for the first time and won 49.
-In Maharashtra we contested all 288 seats and won 122 seats with allies. In Haryana we have got over 33% votes, in Maharashtra about 28% votes. In last polls, we got 9% in Haryana and 14% in Maharashtra. This is a big jump. Last time in Maharashtra we won 46 seats, this time 122, last time in Haryana we had 4 seats, now we have won 48 seats. I believe there can be no greater victory than this.
-Our opponents were saying Modi wave has been over, but today’s results show Modi wave is alive like Tsunami.
-You quote half statement, Praful Patel said that Maharashtra people have given verdict that BJP should form the government. BJP is single largest party and we will give support from outside. I believe BJP is single largest party and as per democratic practice it has right to form the government.
-We continued Shiv Sena minister in centre and also continued support to Shiv Sena in Mumbai Municipal Corporation. We never broke alliance.
-Government is formed when it gets support.
-NCP has stated not about alliance, it has stated that it wants to support the single largest party from outside.
-We have never tried to break alliance with Shiv Sena.
-Congress is not in position to even claim the LoP post. It has moved to no. 3.Our Congress mukt movement has progressed two steps ahead.
