Goons have free run in Rajkot, wanted Bali Dangar and gang open fire on complainant's bungalow

Rajkot, 28 October 2014

Goons have free run in Rajkot city, police has completely failed here and ruling party politicians are just delivering lip service, that too at the time of elections or by-elections when they have to react, otherwise they even don’t react. BJP is failure here because its government is just not able to protect the people. Congress is failure here because it is not able to mobilize people’s movement against goons in city as an effective opposition party.

The latest victim of open goondaism is builder Kamlesh Ramani.

Ramani was on vacation with his family at Panchamadhi in Maharashtra. Yesterday when he came back, he found glasses of his bungalow broken, CCTV cameras damaged and steel balls scattered in his bungalow compound. When he saw video recording of CCTV footage, he found shocking visuals! Three persons arrived in Maruti Swift car were firing on his bungalow. One of them was on driving seat while infamous mafia Bali Dangar and other two were wearing mask and firing at Ramani’s house. The footage belonged to Diwali night.

Ramani has informed Additional Police Commissioner KLN Rao about this incident. Malaviyanagar police has filed complaint and started investigation.

Ramani has been attacked because he had filed complaint against land mafias Jaypalsinh Jadeja and Bali Dangar for their demand of Rs. 7 crore as extortion. Bali and Jadeja had created bogus documents showing that a piece of land in Maliyasan village worth crores of Rupees was jointly owned by Ramani, Bali and Jadeja.

While Jaypalsinh Jadeja has been arrested and in judicial custody, Bali Dangar is on run. Complainant Ramani has identified masked Bali Dangar in CCTV footage through his height, body and hairstyle.

Police had asked people to come forward to file complaint against Bali and Jaypal and assured protection, but the latest incident of firing on builder’s bungalow has shocked the people of Rajkot. Why police is just not able to catch Bali Dangar is another question. Opposition Congress party has number of times alleged that goondaism in Rajkot is continuing and growing due to nexus of local BJP politician and mafias.

Local dailies Phhulchhab, Sandesh and Divya Bhaskar add:

As police commissioner was absent, Ramani visited incharge police commissioner KLN Rao(joint police commissioner), but even after two days efforts of Ramani,
Rao didn’t take formal complaint. Firstly Rao asked Ramani to sit outside his office and made him waiting for two hours. When Ramani visited Rao again with Patel community leaders, Rao continued to take the incident lightly and asked Ramani to give application in writing. When Ramani came with complain in writing, Rao asked him to meet personal assistant. When he met personal assistant, he was asked to go to registry branch. When he reached to registry branch, he was asked to come again at 4.00 pm. Even after complain in writing and meetings with ACP Crime Branch and Police Inspector of Crime Branch, complaint was not filed.

It should be mentioned here that this is same police that made announcement that people of Rajkot should come forward to file complaint against Bali Dangar and others without fear as police is ready to provide protection to them. When police made such announcement, it was election time in Rajkot(bypoll of Rajkot west seat).

Ramani says he had filed complaint in police ten days back against Bali Dangar and Jaypalsinh Jadeja for demanding Rs. 7 crore extortion. Earlier, Bali gang had tried to attack him when he was in car on Amin road. A complaint was also filed in this regard, but later Pavan hotel fame Manubhai and Gopalbhai Ahir worked as mediator and compromise was made. Even after compromise, Bali gang came to Kamlesh Ramani’s Yagnik road based Hirapanna complex office and damaged Ramani’s car in parking. As ‘A’ division police refused to file complaint, Ramani had to go to court to file complaint.

Meanwhile, Joint Police Commissioner told Gujarati newspaper Divya Bhaskar that Kamleshbhai’s application has been received and probe has been handed over to Crime Branch. He said that Ramani had only made representation and given CCTV footage. If he files complaint, police will file FIR. When asked about failure of Rajkot police in catching Bali Dangar, Rao said that two teams are already there after Bali Dangar.

Phhulchhab reports that Rao avoided taking media’s phone calls and Kamlesh Ramani had to approach higher officers in Gandhinagar.
