Worsening crime situation, Gujarat Police Chief rushes to Rajkot

Rajkot, 3 November 2014
Gujarat Police Chief PC Thakur today reached Rajkot to review worsening crime situation in city. He held meeting with local police officers.
Not just Rajkot city, but major part of Rajkot district is in grip of land mafias, illegal money lenders, goons and small time community wise gang operators.
Author’s note: While state police chief’s visit is fine, the people of Rajkot will feel presence of police only if local police arrest Bali Dangar and shame him by parading him on roads with his gang members. Police also need to throw dozens of politically connected land mafias, money lenders and other 100s of anti-social elements to jail for at least three-four years period. Casteist approach while dealing with crime cases has to be abandoned. If there are too many vacancies left, let Gujarat police fill them on priority basis in Rajkot. There’s something wrong with the culture of Rajkot police which needs major correction with solid intervention from Gandhinagar. Freedom from Vahivatdars, crooks riding on caste/community power, their links with corrupt politicians is absolutely necessary.
