SC Judge AR Dave to open new court building in Surat

Supreme Court Judge AR Dave will inaugurate a ten-storey new court building in Surat situated on Athwa lines road on 7 December. Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court VM Sahai and state Law minister Pradipsinh Jadeja will attend the function.
The city of Surat has now over 5.5 million population. There are 25 police stations and 3 branches, cases of which land at about 50 courts including civil, sessions, small cause courts. There are about 2 lakh cases pending at present. Existing court building has weakened and not worth repairing. It may collapse in future.
