VMC stops parking fee collection at malls and multiplexes

Vadodara, 14 November 2014

Shopping malls and multiplexes in Vadodara had started open loot by seeking parking fee from visitors. Thanks to Vadodara Municipal Corporation(VMC) the practice has been stopped and parking has been made free in four shopping malls for all types of vehicles.

As per directives issued by Municipal Commissioner Manish Bhardwaj, the Building Use department of VMC had issued notices to Central Square(Genda circle), Vadodara Central, Cine Mall(Natubhai Circle), Seven Seas(Fateganj) and Inorbit mall(Gorva road) following which, Inorbit, Inox, Cinemall, Emphasis mall and Central Square malls stopped collecting parking charge from visitors. However other malls were found collecting parking fee. Municipal Corporation has announced toll free helpline number 18002330265 and asked citizens to inform the VMC if parking fee is still collected at such places.

Standing Committee Chairman Dr. Hitendra Patel has clearly stated that if any shopping mall or multiplex is found charging parking fee, it will be sealed and drainage connection to such properties will be disconnected.
