Amitabh Bachchan arrives in Ahmedabad for film shoot

Ahmedabad, 26 November 2014

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan today landed in Ahmedabad. His few days long stay here this time is for ongoing shooting of upcoming film.

Shri Bachchan arrived at city’s Courtyard by Marriot hotel in the afternoon.

Yesterday in his blog post he had announced his visit to Gujarat. He had said, “Its departure time in the tomorrow and more of the film that Balki asked me not to talk or print about, in the extensive lanes of Gujarat, away from the hurly-burly …”

This mention of Balki suggests that Amitabh is in Ahmedabad for the shooting of his upcoming film Shamitabh, the film scripted and directed by R. Balki which is scheduled for a worldwide release on 6 February 2015. It features Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasa(Kamal Hassan’s daughter). The reason behind the film’s title was that the film had its name derived from the duo’s names in which ‘Sh’ from Dhanush was added as a prefix to Amitabh, therefore becoming Shamitabh.
