Kutch Rann Utsav 2014-15 kicks off today, formal inauguration on 6th Dec.

Kutch Rann Utsav is starting today. Though formal inauguration will take place on 6th of December in presence of Chief Minister, the utsav has been declared open today informally. This is the 8th edition of Rann Utsav.

According to district collector Mahendra Patel, check posts for visitors who wish to go to white Rann of Kutch via Dhordo have been set up at Bhuj Jan Seva Kendra, Bhirandiyara and also at Dhordo. While Bhirandiyara check post is old, the Bhuj Jan Seva Kendra permit office was opened last year. A special permit counter at Dhordo has been added this year.

Permits to visit white Rann of Kutch will be issued at Bhirandiyara through four counters. The timing will be 8.00 am – 8.00 pm.

Attractive packages of full moon nights are booked in advance. War memorial at Dharmshala has been added to itinerary this year.

The tent city located next to white Rann of Kutch at Dhordo has 350 tents this year.

Rann Utsav will continue for two months and five days this year(2014/15).
