Banking transactions to be stalled for four days from today in Gujarat


Ahmedabad, 5 December 2014

Strike of nationalized banks today will derail banking transactions in Gujarat for four days. That is because it’s Friday today and there’s strike, tomorrow is holiday due to fourth Saturday followed by Sunday. Cheque deposited on Monday will be cleared only on Wednesday.

On the call of ‘United Forum of Bank Unions’, employees and officers of 28 nationalized banks functioning in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Diu and Daman are going on strike today. A scooter rally has been organized from Vallabh Sadab in Ahmedabad at 11.00 am in this connection.

Bank employees are going on strike on various pending demands including non performing assets, increase in salary, extended hours of working etc.
