SC Justice Anil R Dave inaugurates new court building in Surat

Supreme Court Judge Anil R Dave today inaugurated a 10-storey new court building in Surat at Athwa lines road. Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court VM Sahai and state Law minister Pradipsinh Jadeja attended the function.
The city of Surat has now over 5.5 million population. There are 25 police stations and 3 branches of city police, cases of which are heard by 50 courts including civil, sessions, small cause courts. There are about 2 lakh cases pending at present in these courts. As existing court building had weakened beyond scope of repair, the new court building was planned.
