Gujarat Congress has opposed Gujarat government’s move to declare Rs. 1100 crore relief package to farmers.
President of Gujarat Congress, Arjun Modhwadia in a statement issued today said that the package declared by BJP government is ‘fake’.
“Farmers are demanding sufficient prices while BJP has declared this fake package. Farmers should get Rs. 1500/20 kg for cotton and Rs. 1200/20 kg for groundnut. Bharatiya Kisan Sangh leaders should not betray the farmers,” Modhwadia said.
He said farmers are seeking proper price and not relief in interest or in electricity bill. Farmers have never demanded relief packages.
Modhwadia attacked Kisan Sangh leaders and said they are brothers of BJP.
He said Congress will continue to show black flags to BJP ministers during public programmes and gherao them.
