Somnath, DeshGujarat, December 20

A meeting of Shri Somnath Trust is likely to be held today evening in Delhi at Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s residence. Shri Modi is one of the trustees of Shri Somnath Trust.
The meeting will discuss Somnath Trust’s annual accounts, and review all ongoing and future development projects.
However the main agenda of this meeting will be the post of the Chairman of the trust. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel is Chairman of the trust at present. He is on this post for last two terms. He could be repeated on this post or any other person could take over. A decision on this will be taken in today’s meeting. Former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Chief Secretary of Gujarat PK Lehri, local representative JD Parmar are other Trustees of Shri Somnath Trust.
Due to Lok Sabha general elections and foreign visit of Keshubhai Patel which lasted for several months, the meeting of trustees was delayed.
There’s one place vacant in trust body. Today’s meeting may select the name of new trustee. Shri Somnath Trust is likely to invite Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to visit Shri Somnath Mandir during his upcoming Gujarat visit in January.
