Dalai Lama to visit Surat

Surat
Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will be in Surat on 1st/2nd January 2015. He will be presented Santokba award on 2nd January by SRK foundation here.
The award would be presented to him by Gujarat governor O P Kohli. It has been instituted by SRK Foundation set up by Govind Dholakiya of Shree Ramkrishna Exports.
Around 700 Tibetans who are presently in Surat to sell winter wears are going to shut down the market on 1st January till 5 pm, so that they can welcome Dalai Lama and attend the functions.
This will be Dalai Lama’s first visit to Surat.
