Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat

After a recent successful seminar and exhibition ‘National Traffic Technology Summit 2015’ numerous suggestions were received from leading global practitioners of traffic management, Policymakers, Academicians, Industry representatives, Lawmakers and enforcement agencies and Urban development authorities by the state government. Considering these the state Government is planning to come out with a new policy for better traffic safety and better traffic management.

The new policy will be heavily focused on improving the public transport across the state and generating awareness for less use of individual vehicles and more use of public transport. The policy will focus on improving co-coordinating between different government agencies as well as short and long term traffic management.

To reduce the number of road accidents and ease the traffic woes in the major cities of the state Gujarat Government is planning to launch a new traffic safety cum management policy which will look at the problem from the holistic perspective instead of piecemeal efforts.

The policy is also likely to address issues relating to the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, management and development of all forms of UT(Urban Transport) in an economically efficient, equitable and sustainable manner.
