Salman Khan, other stars coming to Ahmedabad this Sunday for CCL

Celebrity Cricket league (CCL) a new synonym of cricketaintment; is a non-professional men’s cricket league in India commenced since 2011 with a twenty-twenty format. It is recently taking place at Sardar Patel cricket stadium, Ahmedabad on 25th January, 2015. And to promote the same Sohail Khan, Jay Bhanushali, Vatsal Seth and Raja Bherwani visited Ahmedabad.

The word ‘Celebrity’ in CCL itself defines glamour to this event to which Sohail elaborates saying

‘CCL is best of both the worlds, it smartly combines cricket and filmy glamour. Even the selection of players is done by a separate panel on popularity’s parameter. We are now coming up with firm rules like anyone who has done minimum 3 movies can only be counted eligible for participation.’

‘CCL has remained a south centric event for the past matches having more of south venues and teams but this time we wanted more participation of western states especially from Gujarat. The response we received from the state for hosting CCL in Ahmedabad was tremendous.

Apart from having Mumbai, Bengal, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar etc, now we look forward to have Gujarat’s ‘Dhollywood’ team in CCL’ exclaimed Sohail.

Concerning Gujarat he adds ‘To bring a local touch to CCL we have Vatsal, Jay and Raja who are all Gujaratis. And I even had a talk with Sharman Joshi for coming up with a Gujarat’s team to participate in CCL 2016.’

Figuring out the lifeblood of the ‘Mumbai Heroes’ team, Sohail says ‘Shabbir Ahluwalia is the trump card of our team, a very aggressive player who can deal with ‘Karnataka bulldozers’ team. Southern teams have a ‘Yahoo’ approach they practice rigorously unlike other teams. Taking leave from their movie schedules they devote time to practice cricket while we still need to learn the same from them!’

Fitness is the first factor of any sport to which Sohail presents ‘Undoubtedly, CCL demands fitness. We practice for months taking time from shoots to cater to this need. Even these days we have matches at ‘Kalina’ ground wherein we get training under the ex-coach of Maharashtra team. No one expects us to be Sachin or Dhoni but surly the level of this sport needs to be maintained.’

Acting and cricket are like chalk and cheese; they don’t have anything in common! To these Jay Bhanushali, Actor explains as ‘In acting we get several chances to prove ourselves. While in cricket we don’t. We aren’t used to receive instant reaction from the audience which we get in this sport. Still we play it with agile as since childhood we were hungry for playing cricket and CCL gives us that golden chance!’

Sohail is also planning to direct a movie on 1983 cricket World cup match wherein the CCL players will form the caste. He also pointed out that CCL is much more than just Cricket. It leads to interaction between people across several industries like Tollywood, Mollywood, Sandalwood, Marathi or Bhojpuri cinema. It all results into polishing the filmy work as well.

Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Sunil Shetty, Sonu Sood and several other stars are landing on Ahmedabad’s land , this 25th for CCL and now everyone awaits it with pure excitement.
