IIMA’s FT ranking up from 30th to 26th position

IIMA’s position in FT’s ranking of top full-time global MBA programmes has moved up to number 26, this year (2015), from number 30 last year (2014).

Reacting to this development, IIM Ahmedabad(IIMA) Director Dr. Ashish Nanda said, “although gratified by the improvement in our rank, let me reiterate that we look at good rankings as the result of achieving our goals, rather than the goal itself. We are committed to providing an excellent educational experience that prepares our students as leaders of enterprises.”

He further in his reaction said, “having said that, rankings are indicators of how we are doing, compared to other institutions, and provide an insight into what we are doing well and what we need to work on more. Our students have a rich learning experience recognized by the recruiters, as evidenced by our high ranking in the salary of graduates, value for money, career progress, and placement success metrics. We lag other institutions on measures of gender diversity and international composition.”

“We have made changes to our admissions approach to encourage individuals with diverse and international backgrounds to apply to IIMA and continue to make efforts through globally advertised chaired professorships and faculty fellow positions to introduce more diversity in our faculty as well, ” he said.

“Overall, we are committed to attracting and nurturing a diverse community to achieve the best learning experience for all members of the IIMA community,” Shri Nanda said.
