Gandhinagar
Gujarat Congress has called a meeting of all its MLAs on 3rd February in Gandhinagar circuit house in connection with upcoming budget session of Gujarat assembly.
The budget session is going to start on 23 February and it will continue for about a month.
State Finance Minister Saurabh Patel is going to present annual budget for year 2015-16 on 24 February
While other sessions of the assembly in Gujarat hardly convene for two-three days, the budget session – due to rules attached to discussion on budget demands – convenes for about a month.
This is therefore an opportunity for opposition Congress party to attract maximum media attention.
In past, all budget sessions have been headache for the government, as opposition party attempts to expose the government almost on daily basis by raising topics that may show government in bad light.
