On Delhi election

A specific brigade in media fraternity joined by some others is propagating Aam Aadmi Party(AAP)’s victory even before polling. This brigade has confused entire country and painted a picture that Delhi is cakewalk for AAP. There’s no doubt that constant propoganda on this line in print and on TV channels gives benefit to AAP ahead of polling.
My friends in Delhi with ear to ground however suggest that this is a psychological campaign by a group which wants to arrest the victory march of BJP, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in Delhi.
In fact Shri Modi talked about this group briefly but brilliantly in his speech at Japanese Park in Delhi, clip of which is attached with this article.
This group of Lutyen’s Delhi hates Narendra Modi from core of their heart. And as Modi said in his speech, the same group hated Sardar Patel, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Morarji Desai too.
I had an interaction with one lady from this group, in a wedding reception function in Ahmedabad last December. Just in courtesy when we asked her, ‘how are you doing in Delhi’, she criticized Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for twenty minutes or so without a full stop. This lady from media fraternity working in Lutyen’s Delhi stopped only when someone came to her and asked to join dinner.
So the Lutyen’s brigade has painted a picture that AAP is ahead of BJP in Delhi assembly polls.
But when contacted, our friends in Delhi said the Lutyen’s brigade is creating hype to benefit AAP. “Look BJP won more seats than AAP when AAP was on its peak in Delhi. Later in Lok Sabha polls, BJP won all seats in Delhi. If we translate Lok Sabha victory into the number of assembly segments, the BJP won 60 assembly segments in Delhi out of total 70. And this happened less than a year back. With this track record, with Narendra Modi’s leadership and with Amit Shah’s experience to take care of an election, why BJP should lose?”

“Even if BJP does poorly, it could go down from 60 to 45, but why to expect less than that?” a friend in Delhi further said.
Another friend in Delhi said, “main stream media is continuously driving a point that the election is being contested on economic lines and poor will vote for Kejriwal but this is absurd and wrong assumption. Modi’s rally in Ambedkarnagar was full of poor and lower economic class people. The mood was visible. Not all poor and weaker economic class background people are going to vote for AAP.”
He said, “in BJP survey it was observed that the main issues of in people’s mind were good leadership face, law and order and women’s security. Kiran Bedi was therefor brought in. I don’t know how much difference she has made to BJP’s claim to capture Delhi, because large number of people are found favoring BJP for Modi and none other. With or without Kiran Bedi, BJP has been enjoying upper hand due to Modi’s leadership.”
Another friend in Delhi said, “media is projecting this election as a suspense film, but it’s a suspense film only for those outside the cinema theater. We are inside the theater, and there’s no suspense here. We can easily judge that BJP is enjoying upper hand comfortably. Don’t be surprised if AAP wins lesser number of seat compared to last assembly poll.”
He added, “look, media’s hype in favor of AAP is in a way good for BJP. More middle class people who back BJP will come out and vote for BJP due to fear that their favorite party may lose if they don’t come out and vote. So perception created by media will be fruitful for BJP. If this was a one sided election, BJP supporters perhaps could not be as aggressive and active.”
So what if Kejriwal loses the election?
A friend in Delhi says,”in that case Mr. Kejriwal will surely say that entire ruling party including its president, prime minister, all cabinet ministers fought against him aggressively, but even then AAP could win so and so number of seat.”

And what if BJP loses the election?
Same friend says, “there’s no chance, because Amit Shah is personally supervising this election which covers comparatively a very very smaller geographical area compared to Uttar Pradesh where he was party in-charge during Lok Sabha general elections. Shah is not over confident, and untouched by Lutyen’s brand media brigade’s tricks, he is employing best effort for the success of Delhi mission. Remember, only over confidence can defeat BJP and not fear of rival party.”
Amitbhai’s son’s wedding is scheduled to take place on 10 February in Ahmedabad. Interestingly this is the day when Delhi election results will arrive. On one side, Jay Shah’s hast melap vidhi will take place at 12.39 pm and on the other side the trends of Delhi verdict will be somewhat clear by around 1.00 pm. Kejriwal is irrelevant, but egg on that Lutyen’s brigade’s face will be a gift to Amit Shah and millions of others who proudly believe in idea of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi. BJP will win minumum 37-40 seats. Maximum anywhere above that.
