A day after the exit polls suggesting Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) victory in Delhi assembly elections, BJP camp maintained that BJP will win the election when results are out on 10 February.

Time Now quoted BJP-RSS sources and claimed, “BJP-RSS internal assessment shows BJP victory in 34 seats, defeat in 20 and close contest in 16 seats.”

BJP leader GVL Narsimha Rao told news agency ANI: “AAP supporters are noisier and more open in support, but BJP supporters are not that vocal, hence the exit-poll results.”

He added, “there is no doubt that AAP has given a good fight, but hopes of BJP are still intact.”

BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman visited the party’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi at her residence and told reporters that they were hopeful of winning the Delhi assembly polls.

“We are waiting for the results. We are hopeful that we will win,” Sitharaman told reporters outside Bedi’s house a day after the polling for the 70 Delhi assembly seats was held.

Asked about Bedi’s statement in the wake of the exit poll figures Saturday evening that she would take the blame if the party lost in Delhi, Sitharaman said: “She has given her personal view but we are hopeful the result will go in our favour.”

Meanwhile news agency IANS reports, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Delhi state unit is going to convene a review meeting Sunday evening. It will be attended by all 70 candidates, including party’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay, Delhi poll in-charge Prabhat Jha and other office-bearers.Some national leaders are also expected to attend the meeting that will analyse and review the party’s performance in the polls.
