Online voting option for voters in Gujarat local body polls this year

State Election Commissioner of Gujarat Varesh Sinha today held a meeting in connection with elections of six municipal corporations in the state. He stressed on maximum use of information technology in upcoming elections.

The meeting in Gandhinagar was attended by municipal commissioners and district collectors.

Dr. Sinha said the elections of Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Surat and Rajkot municipal corporations will be held in the month of October, for which a timetable of ward delimitation, ward wise voters list, registration of e-voters for online voting system etc will need to be prepared and followed. He said the administration has to ensure maximum voting, for which awareness programmes should be held.

Secretary of State Election Commission Mahesh Joshi shared details on ward delimitation, voters awareness programme, online voting system, reservation seat allocation etc issues.
