Surat MLA made Whip of ruling BJP with status of minister

Leader of ruling BJP in Gujarat assembly has appointed Surat MLA Ajay Choksi as whip of party. Choksi will enjoy the status of junior minister with this appointment. It should be mentioned that Surat – the second largest city of Gujarat elects 12 MLAs, but for last three years only one of them (Nanu Vanani) was inducted in ministry. When BJP had 5 MLA from Surat, two of them were made minister, but when it has 12 MLAs, there’s only 1 inducted as minister. With Ajay Choksi’s elevation Surat has got second MLA who has given position of ministerial status in Gandhinagar.
