Mahesana gets new library, highway bypass, kindergartens, 6 km streetlights

Minister Nitin Patel today dedicated Nand Ghars(government run kindergartens), street lights, bypass road, Maha Shakti library and other public amenities in Mahesana in north Gujarat.

Two Nand ghars at Magpara and Anandpura are built at a cost of Rs. 12.68 lakh while bypass road has been built for Rs. 85 crore. Maha Shakti library has been built for Rs. 41.52 lakh while street lights on 6 km road are installed at cost of Rs. 1.75 crore.

Patel in his speech said, then Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi had allotted additional revenue land for town hall project for just Rs. 5 lakh while its original value was Rs. 5.65 crore. He added that Rajya Sabha MP Shri Arun Jaitley allocated Rs. 70 lakh for construction of town hall.

Patel said his department has approved Rs. 16 crore for six lane Mahesana-Modhera road, Rs. 15.50 crore for discharge of rain water and construction of service road on Radhanpur road, Rs 10.65 crore for Mahesana to Kherva road, Rs. 5.76 crore for widening of Mahesana-Visnagar and Vadnagar road, Rs 15 crore for Kadi-Nandasan road, Rs. 41 crore for Mahesana-Balol-Bechraji road, Rs. 9.20 crore to lift Saibaba Mandir bridge. Mahesana district has witnessed Rs. 372 crore development works during 2014-15.

Local BJP MP announced Rs. 2 lakh books for newly opened library and added that she has given Rs. 25 lakh budget for construction of town hall.

It should be mentioned here that original plan was to build a shopping center, but due to representation made by local people, Shri Nitin Patel took personal interest and ensured construction of library instead of shopping center on same land at a cost of Rs. 41 lakh.

The library will be managed by Mahalakshmi Mandal for which Memorandum of Undestanding(MoU) was signed.

The Minister said that water supply through Nagalpur project will be possible in three months period after which Mahesana’s all areas will start getting supply of pure water of Narmada in phase manner.
