Gujarat Tourism to promote MICE tourism concept

Gujarat tourism department is working upon a new incentive policy to promote MICE(Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Events) tourism popular on several business and tourist destinations in the world.

Worldwide it is an accepted phenomenon that industrial growth centers also further tourism activities e.g., Frankfurt, London, Singapore, etc., industrial centers have emerged as iconic MICE centers.

On the same line Gujarat tourism plans to promote MICE tourism in Gujarat. Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar has emerged as an International Convention Center for MICE. Major events like Vibrant Gujarat, Pravasi Bhartiya Divas(PBD) exhibition, Plast India have been concluded recently which had international representation from across the globe. Construction of new convention center at riverfront Ahmedabad and Vadodara will start shortly. The tourism department will launch combo tourist packages for MICE tourist to link their business tours with tourist destinations of Gujarat.

The state tourism also plans to promote Event based tourism on the line of Tomatino Festival in Spain, Carnival in Brazil etc., In Gujarat too, the same plank is being used to promote tourism Rann Utsav in Kutch, Run the Run in Kutch, Cycle race in Polo forest, Paragliding in Saputara, Beach Festival in Mandvi Kutch, Navratri in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat etc.
