Though a public toilet facility has been created by government, some people were found regularly using public place as toilet in pilgrim town Dwarka every morning.
Local police yesterday held a special drive during 4-7 am and caught 22 persons using Gomti Ghat as open toilet. They were taken to police station and presented before media. They were fined and warned not to use open ghaat as toilet place and use a facility created for that purpose by government.
Cleaning drive at Gomti ghat which is located near Shri Dwarkadheesh Mandir was conducted during 1-16 May, during which it was found that some people use ghat place as toilet early in the morning. Later in the day when tourists and visitors visit the ghat, they find it dirty. In this connection, district police chief had issued instruction to catch those people using ghat as open toilet.
Locals have appreciated this action of district administration and demanded that such drive should take place regularly.
