Gandhinagar
In reply to question on forecast of delayed and below normal rain during upcoming season of monsoon, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel in Gandhinagar said that she had full faith that there will be sufficient rain, and there’s no need to panic.
“Today when I looked at newspapers, I found all of them said like there’s already famine here, and there’s no water available. This is not good. All I want to say is that there’s no need to panic, we have water available with us. I have full faith that there will be rain, because nature wouldn’t do something that may keep cattle thirsty. The government has made all arrangements. Agriculture department is planning to issue directives for farmers suppose if there’s insufficient rain.”
“Congress has no business to do, and Congress people have lot of time to spare after Narendrabhai Modi government in centre. When there was no rain a few years back, that Jairam Ramesh and then Agriculture Minister from then government in centre came to us and made announcement that centre would help Gujarat, but they didn’t give anything. These Congress persons come to submit memorandum so that media may give them coverage. They want to continue to stay alive through media, and you continue to make them alive.”
