Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel today made a decision to include 196 forest villages of the state in revenue villages and declare them as revenue villages which will benefit for such villages.
As many as 79 of Surat, 12 of Tapi, 52 of Narmada, 20 of Bharuch, 9 of Dahod and 24 of Panchmahal forest settler villages will become as revenue villages of the nation. Under the welfare oriented approach of Mrs. Patel for tribal people of the state, the forest settler villages having more than 75 land account holders-occupiers will be declared as a seperate revenue village and the forest village-settler having less than 75 land account holders-possessors could voluntary merge themselves in geographically nearer villages with revenue records.
As a result of the revolutionary decision taken by Mrs. Patel, now on the forest settlers will get legal possession rights and such forest settler suburban areas will get a status of revenue village. Not only that but such settlers will be given covenant-map as possessors.
Such note will be included in the 7/12, 8-A or 6-authority letter of revenue record. Now on, married couple can be registered as possessors in revenue records instead of earlier rule of registering only head of the family.
Mrs. Patel has taken a noble decision, now on land of the forest settlers will get registration hereditary transfer and revenue records. Also, they will get loan from co-operative societies or a bank as well.
