A four minute video clip from Rajya Sabha

New Delhi

This 4-minute video is worth watching.

The Chairman of Rajya Sabha today after sitting on chair made an announcement, “we have with us seated in the special box members of parliamentary delegation from Bhutan currently on visit to our country under the leadership of speaker of the national assembly of the parliament of Bhutan. We also have chairperson of the national council of the parliament of Bhutan.”

When Chairman said, “We hope that during their stay here they would be able to see and learn more about our parliamentary system,” the members in the house laughed out loudly. Failing to understand the reason of this loud laughter, the foreign guests from Bhutan too gently smiled in response.

Soon they realized the reason behind that loud laughter.

As soon as the Chairman completed welcome speech for Bhutanese guests and declared the question hour, Congress MPs stood up and started showing placards and shouting slogans. Within three minutes or so, the house was declared adjourned.

It should be mentioned that Congress party members have not allowed the house to function so far during the ongoing session.
