SMC suffered Rs 16 crore property damages during Patidar andolan

Surat Municipal Corporation(SMC) surveyed losses during Patidar agitation in city.
As per primary estimates, the losses are estimated in range of Rs 15-17 crore.
The highlights of losses according to SMC officials: 4 community halls that were built recently, 3 fire fighters, 1 attack on fire station, 1 BRTS bus, 22 BRTS bus stand on Kharvarnagar to Simada route , street lights, high mast tower.
Crowds on rampage had created chaos in sensitive areas like Sarthana, Nana Varachha, Hirabag, Kapodra, Katargam, Ved road and even damaged CCTV cameras of Surat Police, wi-fi towers, 30 buses of State Transport and more.
City based bridge contractor Kishor Narayan Badhe suffered loss of Rs 15.85 crore machinery for bridge construction during Patidar rampage. His office was ransacked with computer and furniture damaged in Sarthana Jakat naka – Simada route.
