‘Patidar Panchayat’ a scheduled meeting of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS)’s taluka and district representatives at Radhe farm in Bopal area of Ahmedabad had to be canceled today, following denial by farm house owner citing the reason that the meeting had no police permission.
PAAS is led by Hardik Patel who gave bandh call on August 26 which saw large scale violence across the state and crores of Rupees of loss to public properties. 10 people were killed during this violence.
Hardik was however not present at Radhe farm today.
His aid Chirag Patel told media persons that PAAS was permitted to hold meeting at Patidar hall in Bhadaj verbally, but on the eve of Bhadaj meeting at 11.00 pm, the organizers received call from hall management that the venue would not be given for this meeting. Later, Meuhulbhai of Radhe farm was contacted and he agreed to allot his farm house for meeting. But today Mehulbhai also denied the venue when all PAAS representatives had already arrived and assembled at the venue. Chirag Patel further said, PAAS don’t want to cause harassment to anyone and therefore the meeting will take place at Umiya campus now.
Today’s meeting was to be held to decide future programmes of PAAS agitation including reverse Dandi march, representations to MLAs belonging to Patidar community.
PAAS led by Hardik Patel is agitating for inclusion of Patidar community in Other Backward Class(OBC) list.
