“If I’m at the helm, I would declare Vaishnav Jan as national bhajan”

“We have national anthem, but suppose if I am at the helm of this country, I would declare ‘Vaishnav jan to tene re kahiye’ song as national bhajan”, said Ram kathakar Shri Morari Bapu while delivering a lecture on ‘Girnar Bhakt Kavi Narsinh Maheta’, organized by Arvindray Vaishnav Trust at medical auditorium in Vadodara.

He added, “I know I am not going to get any such position, and I don’t wish too, but suppose if it happens then I would do that.”

Morari Bapu said, “Mahatma Gandhi took this bhajan to global level. If Mahatma Gandhi adopted it, why we shouldn’t?”

Narrating the details of Vaishnav Jan song, Shri Morari Bapu said, “one who realises pain of other person is Vaishnav, one who would do good for others but would not feel proud for doing good is Vaishnav, one who would not speak bad about other, one who would consider woman as mother, one who would not speak lie even to save his life is Vaishnav.

Shri Morari Bapu said Narsinh Maheta was not believing in caste. He was kicked out from Nagar caste.
