It’s Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 66th birthday today.
In last few years we saw Narendrabhai visiting his mother in Gandhinagar every year on his birthday. But this year, he has not arrived in Gandhinagar.
Last year, even after becoming Prime Minister, Mr. Modi had visited his mother in Gandhinagar to seek birthday blessings. Visit of Chinese president Xi Jinping to Ahmedabad was scheduled on same day and Shri Modi was here to welcome him.

It’s also Ganesh Chaturthi today. This year the state government has encouraged mitti made Ganesh murtis. Ahmedabad’s Gulbai tekra area was busy with people coming here to buy Ganesh murtis.

Jain community is celebrating Samvatsari today by greeting one another ‘Micchhami dukkadam’. It’s called Kshamapana parv or forgiveness day when Jains request forgiveness from each other for all offenses committed knowingly or unknowingly.

On 17th September 1948, Hyderabad state was liberated and Nizam of Hyderabad had surrendered before Sardar Vallabhbhai.
