With BJP in power, the Maharashtra government has now approved the relaxation on the loudspeaker ban for three days during Navratri till 12 am.

According to the Supreme Court guidelines, the state government has the power to relax restrictions on the use of loudspeakers in case of cultural or religious occasions not exceeding 15 days in a year and that the time period should be announced at the beginning of the festival itself. The state has already allowed a relaxation for five days during Ganeshotsav in September. The other days where loudspeakers are restricted include Eid, Diwali, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
