Surat
How important is infrastructure for a growing city.
Junior Chamber International(JCI) is going to organize a national level convention in Surat which may see presence of as many as 4,000 participants. What is making problem while organizing an event on such scale is lack of air connectivity.
According to Dhiren Tharnari of JCI, there are not enough flight before, after and during the event from various locations and therefore many dignitaries will have to travel by railway. The city is only connected to Delhi through two flights daily.
The organizers are now mulling the idea of hiring chartered planes.
