Pacer and debutante Jasprit Bumrah picked up three wickets in his first T 20 international encounter against Australia at Adelaide today while the Gujarati trio (Bumrah, Baroda all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Jamnagar native star cricketer Ravindra Jadeja) claimed seven of the total 10 wickets of the rival team playing a major role in the 37 run win of Team India.
22 year old Bumrah, a domestic player of Gujarat Cricket Association who got the India cap as a replacement to injured Md. Sami, bowled quite impressively and economically in his very first match to pick 3 for 23 while Pandya and Jadeja got 2 each. Two wickets went to the kitty of R Ashwin while seasoned pacer Ashish Nehra could claim only one.
Pandya proved quite expensive initially but controlled his line and length in the later spell.
Batting first India had scored 188 for 3 with a brilliant knock of 90 by Virat Kohli. Aussies were all out for 151 with three balls to spare.
India which lost the one day series is now 1-0 ahead in the three match T 20 series against the homeside.
