Annual revenue of Shri Somnath Trust Rs 33 crore in last FY

Somnath Mandir has emerged as the richest temple in Gujarat with annual revenue of Rs 33 crore.
In last five years the revenue of Somnath Mandir has increased by Rs 13 crore.
In year 2011, the annual revenue by Shri Somnath Trust was Rs 20 crore.
Trustee of Shri Somnath Trust Shri J.D. Parmar recollects memories of Somnath Mandir, foundations of which were laid in year 1950. The task was performed by then government which had spent Rs 8 lakh, the amount which was returned after formation of Trust treating it as debt.
In 1979-80 the amount of donation touched Rs 35 lakh mark. In opening years of 21st century it went above crore.
Highlights of Financial year 2014 – 15 accounts of Shri Somnath Trust
– Against Rs 2177.56 lakh revenue in financial year 2013-14, Shri Somnath Trust witnessed revenue of Rs 3106.57 lakh in year 2014-15 which is 42% increase.
– In year 2013-14 the total expenditure of Trust was Rs 1346.71 lakh against which in year 2014-15 it was Rs 1835.65 lakh which shows 36% increase in expenditure.
– Shri Somnath Trust has at present Rs 11338.61 lakh (113 crore) immovable property which was Rs 103 crore in previous year.
– On 31st March 2015 Trust’s investment was Rs 1924.85 lakh which was Rs 1267.12 lakh in previous year. It is Rs 657.33 lakh up compared to previous year.
– During year 2014-15 Rs 280.42 lakh received as specific donation, Rs 9.60 lakh donation to Sagar Darshan which is in total Rs 385.11 lakh, Rs 90.31 lakh total donation for Somnath Maheshwari guest house – total donation Rs 556.21 lakh Rs 50.33 lakh donation for Ram Mandir – total Rs 176.65 lakh, Rs 1 lakh donation for carving work – total Rs 88.08 lakh, Rs 100 lakh donation for Golokdham project – total Rs 113 lakh Rs 21 llakh for kitchen equipment in Maheshwari guest huose, Rs 8 lakh donation for Sea shore protection wall.
