Union Minister Shri Venkaiah Naidu today while speaking in a function at Chhattisgarh in presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared couple of experiences with Prime Minister Narendra Modi he works with.

Naidu said, in cabinet meeting when the PM proposed Jan Dhan Yojana to ensure bank account to everyone, we said the task could be completed in five years of our government but PM said not five years, we will have to do this in one year. I am older than PM and I along with our other cabinet colleagues were surprised with PM’s decision because in 58 years of Congress rule only 3-4 crore bank accounts were opened. However, finally it’s PM’s leadership that made it possible to open 20 crore bank accounts, of them 10.20 core accounts are opened by women.

Naidu said, “Once I was in cinema hall watching a movie with my family. It was Makar Sankranti festival(and holiday therefore). I received a telephone call from Prime Minister’s office. Even on festival day, Prime Minister was holding meeting.”

Naidu said, “it is said in reference of Prime Minister Modi that ‘khata nahi, khane deta nahi’. And khata nahi doesn’t refer to Maggie but baggy(not noodles but bags full of kick backs).

He said the previous government in centre had fiscal deficit, revenue deficit, trade deficit, current deficit but above all trust deficit. It was a government called, ‘PM presides, madam decides’. But now there’s a government where ‘PM presides and PM decides’.

Naidu further said, earlier the government would walk one step forward and then three steps backward, the situation was awkward. Now there’s a situation when there’s only forward and forward direction.

In concluding part of his speech he said, “if overhead tank is clean, we get clean water at lower level. Shri Modi at top thus makes difference”.

Shri Modi in his speech, in reference to Naidu’s remarks said, “yes today is Sunday, and it it is holiday, and it is holy day for me in real cense , and therefore I am moving across five states today to attend various prorammes. When I will be on bed tonight, I will complete journey to five states in a day.”
