Gujarat Assembly passes Stamp Duty Amendment Bill

Gujarat Assembly today passed Gujarat Stamp Duty amendment bill. 8 MLAs participated in discussion related to this bill. According to Minister Nitinbhai Patel, under section 17 the limit of stamping on high court order in case of restructure or merger of company will need to be completed in 30 days ilmit while under section 53(1) the time limit to file appeal will be 90 days and even beyond. Patel said there are issues regarding unavailibility of High Court order within desired time limit and therefore companies face difficulty.
