In his speech in Lok Sabha today in response to President’s address, Congress vice president and son of Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s contempt for freedom fighter Veer Savarkar was very visible and evident. Rahul linked Savarkar to violence and asked BJP MPs that if BJP has thrown out Veer Savarkar (from its list of inspiring leaders) then it’s good. Rahul positioned Mahatma Gandhi in alignment with Congress against Savarkar aligned to BJP and said while Congress believes in Gandhi, BJP believes in Savarkar. BJP MP from Maharashtra Shri Kirit Somaiya protested Rahul Gandhi’s remark for Savarkar and stood up to speak but what exactly he said couldn’t be heard.
