Rail traffic was partially hit in Ahmedabad-Mumbai rail section today as 9 bogies of a Pune bound goods train were derailed at the platform number one of Vadodara railway station in Gujarat.
DRM Vadodara Ashutosh Gangal said that the goods train was loaded with food grains and was coming from Bhatinda in Punjab. It was going to Pune in neighbouring Maharashtra.
‘ Nine bogies of total 40 of the goods train went off the track at around 4 am today. This has caused some disruption in rail traffic with a few trains running late. The situation was more or less normalized by 10 am and the clearance of platform number one will also be done by this evening,’ he said adding no casualty has been reported.
The reason behind the accident was being investigated.
