Development will continue to be an agenda for BJP for year 2017 general elections of assembly in Gujarat, said Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today evening during interaction with CNBC journalist Sanjay Pugaliya on the sidelines of Gujarat Ratna award function.
Anandiben said, BJP has always gone to people with the agenda of development during the elections and party will never leave the agenda of development and ‘sahuno sath, sahuno vikas’.
She said people know about the development works that has been done in last 15-20 years.
She said, “people come to us and assure us that you don’t need to worry about victory in 2017, as we are aware about the works done by the government.”

About Gujarat’s position so far as investment is concerned, Anandiben in reply to a question said, when Narendrabhai was leading Gujarat, it was only Gujarat which was attracting attention as a state to go for investment. Now Narendrabhai is leading the nation and therefore even other states are attracting attention, but that doesn’t mean that the speed of progress in Gujarat has gone down.
Anandiben said investment can not be a final goal of government. Our goal should be happiness, health, education of children, peace, harmony among people. A common citizen should be in center of our agenda.
On jobs creation she said, the government has opened skill enhancement centers in villages that have more than 5,000 population for training of youths of not just that village but also those living in surrounding villages. New companies on their own go to ITIs and conduct test after which selected students are trained in industrial unit itself. The government facilitates employment of one lakh youths in a year. The State government is going to recruit 66,000 youths this year. Small industries are extended help through policy initiatives. As an example vacant plots in GIDC will be having multistoreyed buildings in which small businesses will be given space with government assistance.
