First day of Summer schedule: Bitter experience for Spice Jet flyers at Ahmedabad
March 27, 2016
Ahmedabad
On the first day of summer schedule of flights in year 2016 today, Spicejet staff at Ahmedabad airport faced heat as Ahmedabad-Mumbai flight SG-636 early in the morning stayed canceled.
Flight SG-636 was to leave Ahmedabad airport at 5.35 am. However even at 5.56, boarding was not started, which resulted into a crowded gate.
An angry passenger in reference to recent Holi dance in Spicejet aircraft tweeted: All the welcome tika on Holi, music inside flight are pretty useless if the boarding is not done in time. Spicejet fails every time.
The passengers saw Indigo starting boarding for a flight that was scheduled one hour later, but just couldn’t find any sign of Spicejet starting boarding procedure. Passengers were angry because there was no announcement on announcement system regarding flight’s delay or cancellation. Even staff there was clueless about the status of flight. Staff person Ms Rinky was requested to at least move passengers with international connection but she asked to wait till some senior person comes. The alternative Indigo airline plane to Mumbai had some seats available, but the problem with passengers was that their luggage was already checked in and therefore they couldn’t catch Indigo flight.
Finally at around 8.30 passengers were told they are to be moved to evening flight.
